How to host virtual bingo on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet
Hosting bingo for a remote team is easy once players have digital cards. Here's how to run a game yourself in about ten minutes of setup.
What you need
- A video call on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet
- A bingo tool that gives every player their own card (up to 200 players with Virtual Team Bingo)
- Optional: a few prizes
Step by step
1. Schedule the call
Book a video meeting on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Plan about 45–60 minutes. Note that free Zoom meetings end after 40 minutes, so use a paid account or keep it short.
2. Create your bingo event
Buy an event session and give it a name. Your player join link is created right away, at the top of the setup page.
3. Share the join link
Copy the join link and paste it in the meeting chat or calendar invite. Players open it on a phone or laptop, type a display name and wait in the lobby — no account or app. They can join before you start; the clock doesn't begin until you launch.
4. Pick your patterns
Choose the winning patterns for your games (line, four corners, full card and more). You can change them between games, and practice mode lets you try everything first.
5. Launch and share your screen
Start the event, then share the player view — a clean full-screen page with the event name, join link, QR code and the numbers called. Players keep their own card on their phone or in another browser tab.
6. Call numbers and play
Draw numbers one at a time and read them aloud. Players tap called numbers to mark them, then press Bingo when they win.
7. Check winners and celebrate
Each bingo claim is checked against the called numbers automatically, so you can confirm winners in seconds. Announce prizes, then start the next game.
Tips for a great game
- Run 3–5 short games with different patterns so it isn't over in two minutes.
- Offer small prizes like gift cards, an extra break or bragging rights.
- Ask a co-host to watch the chat while you call numbers.
- For hybrid teams, people in the office can join from their own phones too.
