1. Who is responsible
Interactive Bingo (virtualteambingo.com) is operated by Jeffrey Normore, who is the data controller for personal data processed through the service. Contact: jeffreynormore+bingo@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect and why
- Host account data (email address, password credentials) — to create and secure your account and provide the service. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Event and purchase records (event names, settings, order references) — to deliver sessions you buy and keep accounting records. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Player data (display name, cards, marks, bingo claims, winners) — to run the live game. Legal basis: legitimate interests of the host and us in running the event.
- Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, connection status, logs) — for security, fraud prevention, and keeping the service working. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Payment card details are collected by Paddle, not by us.
3. Who we share data with
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Service providers that host and run the service (hosting, database, and email delivery).
- Professional advisers such as legal or accounting advisers, where needed.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell personal data. Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States; we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections.
4. How long we keep data
Event gameplay data (players, cards, draws, claims, and winners) is deleted beginning seven days after the event ends; the daily cleanup can take up to another day, and backups may have separate retention periods. Host account data is kept while your account is active. Purchase and event accounting records are kept as long as required by law. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Canadian privacy law and the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to make a request; we aim to respond within one month.
6. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, access controls that limit each host to their own events, and restricted server-side access to data.
7. Cookies
We use only essential browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to reconnect players to their card. We do not use advertising cookies.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new date above.
